Whatever. I have a Gus and a SBPro. My best friend has a Gus, a SBPro, and
a LAPC. Neither of us have had a lick of trouble with anything. As soon as
the Gus gets some support, though, this useless SB is going in the trash.

How many of you have received the 2.06 Disks from Graivs? I finally got
mine on Sat., the new recording sessions and power cords are pretty cool!
But, what I really want is the Miles Drivers! Anyone know the release date?
SBOS is sooo, primitive....it's like puttin wagon wheels on a porsche!
Thanks Gravis

I finally got Prince of Persia 2 to work perfectly on my computer. If
you're having problems, try this:
SET ULTRASND=220,1,1,3,3
SET BLASTER=A220 I3 D1 T1
Load up the POP2 Setup and pick Sound Blaster for both Music and sound.
(Here's the trick) When setting up the IRQ number, pick 7, not 3. For
some weird reason this makes the digitized sound work with no pauses when
playing or lockups. (At least I haen't had any lock ups and I've been
playing for a good hour already.)

Never mind about that message stating how I got POP2 to work. My
UltraSound Has now decided it no longer likes that setup and won't even
start the game. As soon as the first digitized sound is played, it locks
up. I am now proceding to take my ultrasound out, putting it back in the
box, and doing the best thing one can use it for. Throwing it off my roof
onto concrete pavement. I knew I should never have gotten the card unless
they built some SB emulation right onto the board itself. And for all
those GUSers who say the SB sounds crappy, at least it plays right.

I am having difficulty recording .wav files using SOUND RECORDER in Windows 3.1
with a microphone connected to the GUS microphone line in.
Everytime I try to record, Windows' desktop disapears and replace by a dark
screen, Note that it does display somekind of message before it freezes up.
However I could not read the message since the message disapears in a flash.
I have to reboot the computer.
As usual, the Microsoft Windows manual on Sound Recorder does not offer any
helpful information.
I would call Microsoft tech, but before I call, I thought asking users of GUS
on the digest would probably save me a long distance phone call.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Dose anyone know if Gravis is going to try and make drivers
to emulate not only Adlib and SB, but SB-Pro, SB-16, PAS, PAS-16?
Also are there any OS/2 drivers for the gus, I am thinking to
upgreading I was wondering if the SBOS works under it?

Hi,
I have a question for you. I have an ultrasound (256K) and I'm using
sbos 2.04. The problem is that before I install 2.04 I was using the
version shipped with the board (1.61), and games were ok. But since the
upgrade, I notice that some were acting strangly. For instance when you
start XWING, when the commanders are talking, some of the were isn't
pronouced at all or are cut ... In short, some sounds are better but
I lost few of them. I run sbos on a 386 DX 40, 5 megs of ram.
Since I've got my ultrasound, I'm satisfied with it. It's the board
wich can produced the music nearly equal to my former Amiga 3000 computer.
I don't know how the circuit were design, but for 8 bit the Amiga has
incredible music (not to mention the incoming DSP chip).
I would like to know if someone would have "Depeche Mode" music created
for ultrasound. As Jean Michel Jarre, they use much keyboard, guitar in
their music! And I collection sound track and CD of them. They are amasing...
I would like also to know if the last version of sbos is 2.04 or 2.06
because in the "disk" directory the latest version is the 2.04.
Thanks you...

Greetings one and all...
I just joined the ranks of the GUS board owners and am enjoying it a lot.
Just a couple of problems which I can't seem to solve.
On Falcon 3.0 I can play with the radio messages and other background noise
with no problems, but when I turn on the music, it hangs up the system. Has
anyone else had similar problems?
Also, the suggested settings for Strike Eagle II as posted in the FAQ don't
do the job for me either. I have a wide variety of games from MicroProse
and none of them seem to like SBOS AdLib emulation.

No, the driver and player with linearized volume response are not
included in the 2.06 disks. Gravis/Forte are still hanging on to
them for the time being, as they are also trying to add in features
that will make it easier to use custom patches.
